Discover The Journey Zappy's Ground Coffee Takes
Why Honduras?
Honduras in Central America has emerged as one of the top coffee-producing countries in the world, offering high-quality beans with a range of flavors, from chocolatey and nutty to fruity and citrusy.
Honduran coffee is known for its medium to full body, bright acidity, and sweet, caramel-like notes. The country’s high-altitude farms and rich volcanic soil contribute to its unique taste profile. Depending on the region, you can find hints of cocoa, tropical fruit, or even spice in your cup. We’ve steered towards the cocoa and caramel notes with our coffee making it the perfect base for flavoured lattes as well as a great filter black coffee.
Our green coffee beans from Honduras arrive in the US ready to be roasted.
Coffee roasting transforms the dried green beans into delicious aromatic beans through a specialist roasting process that develops the flavor at each stage.
Zappy’s Ground Coffee is a Medium Roast
Choosing a medium roast profile enhances the natural sweetness and balance of Honduran single-origin coffee, making it an excellent choice for those who enjoy a smooth yet flavorful cup. This roast level brings out the bean’s inherent caramel, honey, and nutty undertones, while still preserving its bright acidity and fruity notes.
Unlike a dark roast, which can overshadow the coffee’s unique origin flavors, a medium roast maintains the delicate complexity of Honduran beans, often revealing hints of milk chocolate, citrus, and subtle spice. This well-rounded profile makes it ideal for a French press and cold brew, as the immersion brewing method highlights its full body and rich, silky mouthfeel (mouthfeel describes how the coffee feels in the mouth, it’s a physical sensation).
Whether enjoyed black or with a splash of milk, a medium-roast Honduran coffee delivers a harmonious blend of sweetness, body, and gentle acidity in every sip.
